    Ed cannot remember a time when Fitness wasn’t part of his life! Since leaving school he has worked in the industry, running super successful bootcamps in Hobart until the opportunity came up to own Hypegym.

    The epic programming at Hypegym is thanks to Ed and his love of creating unique, effective, challenging and fun workouts for the crew.

    He loves to create a pumping community that brings the best vibes to our members and help take their fitness journey to the next level. Ed is often planning the next weekend hike, lunch or brunch as the gym is more than a workout, it’s about creating lifelong friends too.

    He value’s a balance between work and play and loves being outdoors on the weekend hiking with friends to relax and reset his mind.

  • SKYE CAREY (AKA Scarey)

    With over 12 years of coaching experience, Skye brings a wealth of knowledge, energy, and real-world performance to her training. A lifelong passion for sport and movement led her into competitive bodybuilding, where she competed between 2012–2014, earning the title of Miss Physique Tasmania (INBA) 2013 and representing on the international stage.

    More recently, stepping into the functional fitness space found her competing in HYROX events and continuing to challenge her own performance and endurance.

    From competition prep to everyday performance, Skye is driven by a passion for helping others build strength, confidence, and resilience, both physically and mentally. She thrives on creating a high-energy, supportive environment where people are pushed to be their best.

    Known as the self-appointed resident DJ at Hypegym, Skye brings the vibe as much as the coaching, delivering sessions that are as fun as they are effective. She’s all about community, loves a Team Throwdown, and will jump at any chance to train alongside her members.


  • NAT FRANKCOMBE (AKA Natty, Natty Cat)

    • Experience in CrossFit, Weightlifting and Strongman Training

    • Over 13 years’ experience in teaching in a group format

    • Jiu Jitsu Black Belt

    • Co-Owner of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Hobart and Owner of Studio Ten Fitness in Moonah

    Nat has always been heavily involved with sports since a young age, mostly team sports such as basketball, netball and softball in school.

    It wasn’t until her mid-twenties that she was introduced to martial arts and found a refreshed passion for health and fitness through wanting to evolve her competitiveness in the sport.

    Nat is one of Tasmania’s most prolific female grapplers and has achieved great success on the competition circuit, both nationally and internationally.

    With her competition career slowly coming to a close, these days, Nat’s favourite thing to train is anything with a heavy barbell and loves a CrossFit comp!

    You can find Nat singing along to some epic pop punk and rock bangers!

    Connie is passionate about pushing limits, building discipline and helping others grow both physically and mentally. With a background in bodybuilding and boxing, she brings over a decade of experience helping people train with purpose and confidence.

    Outside of coaching, Connie balances a full-time career, training and life as a mum to her young son, leading by example through consistency, resilience and strong values.

    She brings a high-energy, supportive approach to every session and loves being part of the Hype Gym community, where training is more than just a workout, it’s a chance to reset and recharge.

    You’ll often find her leading from the front in a Team Throwdown, her favourite way to train and bring out the best in everyone.


  • SARAH WOOD

    Coach

    She has been with Hypegym from the beginning! A coach, a regular in our classes and often with her phone in hand capturing content for our social media.

    Sarah’s life has been full of sport and activity from a young age; a swimmer, netballer and horse rider in her younger years, then finding a love of CrossFit in her early 20s.

    With a busy professional career outside of coaching, Sarah strongly believes regular and consistent movement has been the key to maintaining a healthy mind and body throughout the most challenging times at work over the last 10+ years.

    Landing in Tasmania in 2020, Sarah felt it was a great opportunity to further share her love of movement by officially becoming a Coach and getting her Cert III.

    Lucy’s coaching is focused on effective strength training that helps people get stronger and feel more confident in the gym.

    With a background in personal and group training, she focuses on clear coaching, quality technique and creating sessions that are challenging. Her goal is to help people build consistency, improve how they move and feel capable in their training, whether you’re brand new or wanting to challenge yourself some more.

    Lucy brings a supportive energy to her sessions and enjoys creating an environment where people feel comfortable pushing themselves and progressing over time.

  • Joanna McKeogh (aka Jojo)

    For the past 13 years, Jo has worked within the fitness industry helping people build stronger bodies, healthier lifestyles, and greater confidence through a balanced approach to training and wellbeing. Beginning her career in Perth, Western Australia, she spent many years running her own business, coaching clients through 1:1 personal training, outdoor boot camps, group training, and online programming.

    With qualifications spanning fitness, nutritional medicine, and naturopathy, Jo’s philosophy centers around bridging the gap between health and fitness. She believes performance and physique goals should never come at the expense of overall wellbeing and instead focuses on creating sustainable habits that support strength, energy, recovery, hormone health, mindset, and long-term results.

    Coming from a strong CrossFit and functional fitness background, Jo has a particular love for Olympic lifting and enjoys helping others develop confidence and skill with barbell movements. She thrives in high-energy training environments that challenge people physically while also building resilience and self-belief.

    Known for her approachable coaching style and realistic outlook on health, Jo aims to help members move away from extremes and all-or-nothing thinking, creating an environment where training becomes something people genuinely enjoy and can sustain for life.
